GUIDE FOR RENTING A HOME
st - find the home that you are interested in renting. It's easy to do - All homes are listed by size then by price
nd - contact the owner of the home directly via phone or email. We recommend phone conversations.
rd - ask any and all questions that you may have. Do not be shy. If you forget to ask a question call them back. You should feel very comfortable with the family/individual whom you are dealing with.
th - Be honest, honest, honest, honest honest, honest, honest.....it makes everything easier.
th - If you are interested in grocery shopping, pick up from the airport, cooking, cleaning or any other service that is not listed on the ad feel free to ask. It never hurts to ask if the renter can provide the item.
th- If you have young kids, pets or smoke - Make sure the owner of the home knows this. Many of our renters will be fine with these (other than smoking). If you ask and it's OK then you have clear communication. If you lie and items are damaged or you smoke in their home...because you didn't ask and you felt that they didn't say anything that you are OK....know that you will lose your security deposit. BE HONEST and ASK if you are not 100% sure.
th - Payments - 1st payment will be 1/2 of the total rental agreement. The remaining balance is due upon arrival. A security deposit is required for many of our homes. For a security deposit bring an additional cashiers check or money order that will be given to the owner. That check will be returned to you upon checkout so long as you and the owner agree that no damages took place.
th- How to pay - Credit Cards, PayPal, Personal Checks or Bank to Bank wire transfers
th - Treat the rental home as good or better than your own home. The home should be clean upon arrival and you should make sure it is clean upon leaving.
